Trinity College London's new Rock & Pop Diplomas give high-level musicians the opportunity to gain professional, globally recognised qualifications in contemporary music. Diplomas are available in all five subjects: Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keyboards and Vocals, and are taken entirely digitally.

Three levels are available:

• ATCL (Level 4): equivalent standard to the end of the first year of a bachelor's degree
• LTCL (Level 6): equivalent to the performance standards expected in the final year of a bachelor's degree
• FTCL (Level 7): comparable standard to a master's level performance qualification

Successful candidates gain respected post-nominals — ATCL, LTCL, FTCL — that showcase their professionalism to universities, employers and the music industry worldwide.

• Candidates design their own set list, performing the music that best represents their skills and style, with a total performance duration as specified for each level (breaks between songs are not counted). There is no minimum or maximum number of songs, but programmes falling short of the required duration may be referred. See the syllabus for duration requirements and song-selection rules.
• Record your performance anywhere — from home, in the studio, or at a live show — and upload it digitally when you're ready.
• Backing tracks and performing with other musicians are permitted, provided the assessed instrument or voice is clearly audible throughout.
• Just as professional artists do, candidates are encouraged to improvise, ad lib and create their own interpretations of songs.
• There are no prerequisites; achieving LTCL or an equivalent qualification is recommended before progressing to FTCL.
