โครงสร้างการสอบประกอบด้วยการบรรเลง
เพลง
เลือกเพลงที่เหมาะสมมาสร้างเป็นโปรแกรมการแสดงตามความยาวที่กำหนดในแต่ละระดับจาก รายชื่อเพลงที่กำหนด
ไม่มีการจำกัดจำนวนเพลง ผู้สอบสามารถเลือกเพลงกี่เพลงก็ได้ให้อยู่ภายในระยะเวลาที่กำหนดของแต่ละระดับ

การนำเสนอ
การนำเสนอ ดูจากความเหมาะสมสมดุลของโปรแกรม โดยควรเลือกเพลงที่มีความหลากหลาย เพื่อแสดงถึงทักษะในการบรรเลงเพลงแบบต่าง ๆ นอกจากนี้ยังมีคะแนนสำหรับการจัดโปรแกรมให้มีความยาวที่เหมาะสมพอดีกับเวลาที่กำหนด
โปรแกรมโน้ต ควรจัดทำด้วยความประณีตตามธรรมเนียมโปรแกรมคอนเสิร์ต คือ พิมพ์ลงในกระดาษ A4 พับครึ่งเป็นรูปเล่ม และจะต้องประกอบด้วยข้อมูลเหล่านี้
- วัน เวลา และสถานที่สอบ
- ชื่อผู้สอบ
- ชื่อเพลงและชื่อผู้ประพันธ์
- ประวัติโดยย่อของผู้สอบ
- เวลาการบรรเลงสำหรับแต่ละเพลง
ในวันสอบผู้สอบควรแต่งกายด้วยชุดไปรเวทสุภาพ ตามธรรมเนียมการแสดงคอนเสิร์ตทั่วไป
การให้คะแนน
การให้คะแนนจะขึ้นอยู่กับผลงานการบรรเลงเป็นส่วนใหญ่ และประกอบด้วยคะแนนการนำเสนออีกเล็กน้อย ดังนี้
ความถูกต้องของโน้ตและจังหวะ และการทำตามเครื่องหมายและสัญลักษณ์ต่าง ๆ ทางดนตรี ตลอดจนความต่อเนื่องและลื่นไหลในอัตราจังหวะที่สม่ำเสมอและความเร็วที่เหมาะสม
ความสามารถในการควบคุมเครื่องดนตรี รวมทั้งความสามารถในการสร้างเสียงที่มีคุณภาพเสียงได้หลากหลายอย่างเหมาะสม อาทิการทำ intonation และ articulation การสร้างสีสันทางเสียง (tone color) การใช้ pedal เป็นต้น
ความสามารถในการสื่อสารความหมาย เนื้อหา อารมณ์ของบทเพลงไปสู่ผู้ฟังได้อย่างถูกต้องและเหมาะสม รวมทั้งความตั้งใจในการแสดงบทเพลงโดยคงความรับรู้ถึงผู้ฟังไว้โดยตลอด
การเลือกเพลงให้มีความหลากหลายในด้านสไตล์และเทคนิค ให้มีความความสมดุุลชองโปรแกรม ตลอดจนความยาวที่เหมาะสม
ความสมบูรณ์ของโปรแกรมโน้ต
การนำเสนอและทักษะการแสดงเสมือนการแสดงบนเวที อาทิ การแต่งกายที่เหมาะสม การหยุดระหว่างเพลงอย่างเพียงพอ การไม่วอกแวกลนลานระหว่างการสอบ เป็นต้น
Pass: คะแนนรวม 60 คะแนนขึ้นไป ถือว่าสอบผ่าน
Distinction: คะแนนรวม 80 คะแนนขึ้นไป ถือเป็นเกียรตินิยมอันดับ 1
*สำหรับการสอบใบประกาศนียบัตร ไม่มีคะแนนระดับ Merit
ผู้สอบทุกคนจะได้รับใบคะแนน (Report Form) ที่เขียนโดยอาจารย์ผู้สอบ ซึ่งจะมีคำอธิบายคะแนนส่วนต่าง ๆ อย่างชัดเจน ผู้สอบที่สอบผ่านทุกคนจะได้รับใบประกาศนียบัตร (Certificate) จากประเทศอังกฤษ ซึ่งจะระบุชื่อผู้สอบและระดับเกรดที่สอบผ่าน โดยหากได้เกียรตินิยมจะมีข้อความระบุไว้ในใบประกาศนียบัตรด้วย

Exams consist of a performance element and a presentation element.
Performance
Choose pieces from the published list.
There are no restrictions on the number of pieces as long as it is more than one. However, the time restriction must be strictly observed.
Candidates may also choose other appropriate pieces from outside the published list to make up to 30% of their performance time. There is no need to acquire an official approval from Trinity College London.
- Foundation Certificate: performance duration 8-10 minutes
- Intermediate Certificate: performance duration 15-20 minutes
- Advanced Certificate: performance duration 25-30 minutes
Presentation Skills
This incorporates the effectiveness and overall balance of the pieces played, and the way in which they show different facets of the candidate’s abilities. The accuracy of the timing of the programme is also assessed here.
A short set of written programme notes should be presented to the examiner at the beginning of the exam. Programme notes must include:
- date, time and place of the recital
- name(s) of performer(s)
- titles and composers
- brief biography of the candidate(s)
- timings for all pieces.
Programme notes should be formatted in a similar way to those used for public recitals, e.g. a folded A4 (A5), typed or word processed document.
While attire need not reflect that of a public recital, candidates should dress smartly for the exam. The examiner will let the programme flow, without comments between pieces, to allow the candidate to proceed at their own rate, within the confines of the regulatory timings.
Marking Scheme
The recital (solo or ensemble) is awarded three separate marks corresponding to three specific musical components, allowing candidates to receive precise feedback about aspects of their performance. These marks combine to give an overall mark for the performance.
the accurate realisation of notation and directions sustained at an appropriate tempo
instrumental control and the ability to draw the most from the instrument; intonation, tone colour, articulation, pedalling, etc
the ability to convey musical intent to the listener with commitment and a sense of performance

Every candidate will receive a Report Form written by the examiner, with marks and comments about their performance in the exam. The Report Form is usually available for pick-up two weeks after the exam date. In case of a pass and above, a certificate will be sent from Trinity College London, United Kingdom, and is usually ready for pick-up 6-8 weeks after the exam date.
